ostension asked: Don't get your hopes up for the messaging system. It's pretty awful. HOWEVER, you can install Disqus. If a debate platform is really what you're gearing toward, it's the way to go. Tumblr is great because of quick, condensed, and well-linked sourcing to stories, news, ideas, and images. It's got a lot of power. So combine that with actual commentability and you've got a winner.
